Blackberry and Banana Crumble

Recipe makes: 8 (one square per serving)

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 35 minutes

Equipment: Bowls, spoons, spatula, saucepan, 9×9 inch pan or small pie pan

What you need to make this recipe:

Filling

  •  ½ cup black berries (wash and drained)
  • 1 over ripe banana (peeled)
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup
  • ¼ cup raisins

Topping crumble

  • 1 tbsp flax meal
  • ½ cup quick oats
  • ¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup skim milk
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

How to make Blackberry and Banana Crumble:

For filling

Step 1: Place all ingredients in small saucepan.

Step 2:  Heat for 10 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 3: Set aside.

For crumble

Step 1: Place all ingredients in a bowl together and using a spatula mix until well incorporated.

Step 2: Set aside.

For baking

Step 1: Pre-heat the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2:  Take the prepared filling and fill a 9×9 inch pan or small pie pan making sure to spread the filling evenly.

Step 3: Next spoon the crumble on top of filling and place in pre-heated oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 4: Allow to cool and then serve.

Contains wheat and milk.

Storage information: 

Refrigerate within 2 hours of preparation. Store in refrigerator for up to 1-2 days.
