Parking on Campus

Effective August 30, 2021

Introducing HotSpot, the Mount’s new parking app that lets you pay for parking from your phone, fast tap sign or computer.  No more waiting in line, just pull up the app and put some time on your virtual parking meter. You can get reminders when your time is running out so you can conveniently add time to the meter and avoid getting a ticket without having to stop what you are doing.

Please note we only have one zone parking number – 6788 *click on meter and type in 6788*

BONUS: New users get their first half hour of parking FREE!

There are four pay and display units (coin and credit card only) on campus and they will continue to operate at $1.50 per hour:

  1. At Rosaria Lot #2 located near the McCain Centre 3rd floor entrance.
  2. In the parking lot between College Rd and the Aboriginal Student Centre.
  3. At the corner of Evaristus closest to the large parking lot.
  4. At the bottom of the Steps in front of the EMF

Any amount of time, up to a full day permit, can be purchased at the pay & display. Place your pay and display permit face up and ensure the information on it is visible through your windshield.

A valid parking permit (term, temporary, or Pay & Display) is required for all vehicles parked on the Campus. This is enforced both day and night.

Permits are not required from Friday at 3:00 pm to Monday at 6:00 am.

Accessible and Reserved parking spaces require special permits and are not for general use.

Ownership of a permit is not transferable.

Permits are not permitted for the purpose of storing vehicles on MSVU property, or vehicles not for the general use of travel to and from MSVU.

Only one permit per person will be allowed.  You are able to add more that one license plate to your account and are able to change it based on what vehicle you have each day.

Your license plate is now seen as your parking permit.

  1. All vehicles on campus afterhours require a parking permit through Hotspot.
  2. Vehicles left overnight must be parked in Rosaria lot #4, furthest down the hill, or in such other location as designated by Security staff.
  3. Security requires notification prior to a vehicle being left overnight.
  4. In the event of a concern related to a vehicle parked overnight, security would contact the phone number registered with Hotspot.

Pro-rated refunds are available to employees who have left the employment of the University, and to students who have completely withdrawn from all classes.
