Move-In Day Fall 2021!

Fall Move-In days: September 4th – 5th – By Appointment ONLY

We are excited to welcome students for Fall 2021!

While we know that everyone is eager to come to campus, there are often many emotions and feelings that accompany this new adventure. Please continue to check back here for updated information with regards to moving into residence.

Arriving from outside of Canada

Students arriving from outside of Canada must contact that International Education Centre at International@msvu.ca to register your arrival plan and request support with setting up your self-isolation plan, if required. Visit the MSVU International webpage for more information.

Arriving from another Canadian province or territory (outside of Atlantic Canada)

  • People who are fully vaccinated (2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine or 1 dose of a vaccine authorized as a 1 dose vaccine) at least 14 days before arriving in Nova Scotia do not need to self-isolate; testing is recommended.
  • People who are partially vaccinated (first dose of COVID-19 vaccine) at least 14 days before arriving in Nova Scotia must self-isolate for 7 days and receive 2 negative COVID-19 test results in order to leave isolation after 7 days.
  • People who are not vaccinated (0 doses of COVID-19 vaccine) at least 14 days before arriving in Nova Scotia must self-isolate for 14 days; testing is recommended at the start and end of your isolation.
  • Please email residence@msvu.ca to apply for on-campus isolation space if required. 

Arriving from within the approved travel bubble

Students will need to:

  1. Book your move-in time online and register your designated support person
  2. Complete a Covid-19 pre-screen questionnaire

Move-In Day Procedures for ALL Students

Appointments are required to move in. Students who arrive without a pre-booked appointment will not be permitted to move in on that day and will be required to book on a different day (any costs associated with arriving without an appointment are at the students’ expense, i.e. hotel, lodging, food, etc.).

  1. Check-in at the designated check-in area outside of your residence
  2. Only the residence student and 1 designated support person will be permitted on campus.
  3. All students and any accompanying support person must complete a Covid-19 pre-screening before being checked in
  4. Move-in appointments are 1 hour in duration
  5. Masks are required for all students and support persons
  6. Support persons are required to leave residence after 1 hour
  7. Designated doors will be determined based on residence and areas must be cleared by the end of the move-in time allotted.
