    Join us for an action-packed week at our Winter Wonderland Camp. Campers will stay active and engaged as they participate in exciting group games in the gym, creative winter-inspired art projects, and fun challenges that spark imagination and teamwork. Each day will introduce a new frosty theme, giving children the chance to explore, create, and play in a safe and welcoming environment.

About Us

Welcome to the Mount’s Day Camp Programs, where fun and safety are always our top priorities! Our Summer, PD and March Break Day Camps offer a wide range of energetic and exciting activities for children in elementary school.

Since 1983, we have become a leader in offering unique and meaningful active day camp experiences for children in Halifax and surrounding areas. From athletic and recreational games in the gymnasium, to art activities and crafts, to outdoor adventures and scavenger hunts around our beautiful campus, we ensure a fun-filled, safe, and active experience for your child! Our camp leaders and coordinators are qualified, experienced Mount students, with many aspiring to teach or work with children through our Child & Youth Studies or Bachelor of Education program.

Our programs are structured to engage the whole child and create a lasting impression of fun, friends, and memorable experiences. Take a look at our many day camps coming up and other children’s programs offered through the Mount Fitness Centre.

Our camps include structured recreational programming that allows our campers to have fun and be kids! Our activities include a variety of games, crafts, outdoor adventure, etc. Campers will enhance their imagination, learn through movement and play, and be physically active.

General Information

Hours of Operation: 7:30am-5:30pm

  • Supervised free play: 7:30am-9:00am
  • Structured activities: 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Supervised free play: 4:00pm-5:30pm

Drop off and Pick up:

  • All parents/guardians must escort their camper to the drop-off table outside the Mount Fitness Centre
  • Drop off: 7:30am-9:00am
  • Pick up: 4:00pm-5:30pm
  • If dropping off or picking up between 9am-4pm, please call 902-457-6420.
  • Late fee: $5.00 for every 15 minutes a child remains after 5:30pm.

Lunch:

  • Please provide nut free lunch and snack items.
  • Our campers are very active throughout the day and will watch a G-rated movie during lunch.

Registration Information and Instructions

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. on July 22, 2026.

  • To save time on registration day, we recommend that you create your account in advance.  If you already have an account, please login to ensure access.
  • Age: To register, children must be entering grades primary – 6 in September 2026. Children in pre-primary are too young for this camp

Step #1:

Review all PD and March Break camp details on this website, including including details on the 10% non-refundable deposit.

Step #2:

  • Please use Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
  • Already have an account: 
    – Login to your account using your email and password.
    – Skip to Step #4
  • Need to create an account?
    – Create your user account using this direct link
    – Sign up:  Select the “Sign Up” button and create your account.
    – Proceed to Step #3

Step #3:

  • Once your account is created, you will receive an email from PerfectMind Communications, our software service.
  • If you did not receive the email, please check your junk mail.
  • This email will provide a temporary password for your account. Please use this information to login, and re-set your password.
  • Once logged in, you can then change your profile information in the “My Info” section.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE:
    • You can proceed with your registrations after you create your account.  Once you log out, you will need to activate your password to log back in.
    • If you did not receive the email, please email camps@msvu.ca or call 902-457-6420.

Step #4:  

  • Select the Program Registration Button
  • In the Camps section, select PD and March Break Camps
  • Please note:  You can only book one camp at a time.  Once it has been added to your cart, you can select the “Continue Shopping” button OR go back to the “Program Registration tab” at the top of the screen, and add additional camps to your cart.
  • Select “Book” on the camp you are interested in.
  • This will provide additional details on the selected camp. Click the “Book” button.
  • Select “Add Family Member” to add your child/camper.
  • Enter the child’s information and click “Submit”

Step #5:

  • Who would you like to book?  Click the box in front of the child’s name. It will create a check mark.
  • Click “Next”.
  • Complete the questionnaire
  • Select “Next”

Step #6:

  • Select your preferred terms of payment:
  • Pay in full or the Day Camp Payment Plan.
  • Select “Next”

Step #7:

  • If you selected to Pay In Full:
    – You can check out or select more camps by clicking the “Continue Shopping” button.
    – You can add multiple camps to your cart and pay at the end.  Each camp must be added individually, but can be processed with one payment.

 

  • If you selected a Payment Plan:
    – Each camp registration is done separately.  You must add one camp to the cart and complete the payment. Then repeat the process for each additional camp.

 

  • When you are ready to process your order:
    • Check your cart.  Do you have what you need?
    • Complete the Payment Method Information and click “Place My Order”.
    • If you have selected a Day Camp Payment Plan, you can click “View Schedule” (at the bottom of the cart) to review the payment schedule.

Registration is now complete.

To view your registration:

  • Click the “My Info” button near the top of the screen.
  • Select your profile
  • Scroll down to “Schedules”
  • Select the family member you want to view.
  • Select “Switch to list view”. This will provide a list of all registered programs.

To view your transactions:

  • Click the “My Info” button near the top of the screen.
  • Select your profile
  • Scroll down to “Transactions”

Please note: debit and cash options are only available in-person.

    • Pay the total camp fee(s) at the time of registration, including a non-refundable deposit (10% of the total camp fee).

    • Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX), Debit, Cash

 

  • Payment Plans
    • Pay 10% now and the remainder at a later date.
    • If you selected the payment plan option, a non-refundable deposit (10% of the total camp fee) is paid upfront and the remainder of the camp fee will be processed one week prior to the start of the camp.
    • Online Registration:
      • Each camp registration transaction must be done separately. 
      • You must add one camp to the cart and complete the payment.
      • Repeat the process for each additional camp.

Non-Refundable Deposit & Refund Policy

Allergies and Medications

Allergies and Medications: 

  • DO NOT LEAVE MEDICATIONS WITH YOUR CHILD.
  • Please inform the MSVU Day Camp Staff of all allergies and/or medications.
  • If your child needs to take medication, please give it to the day camp staff member upon sign in.
  • Medications must be prescribed to the camper by a physician and be in the original packaging. Proof of prescription and written authorization are required.
  • Over the counter medications will not be administered.

Disciplinary Code

The Mount’s Day Camp Program has established a three-step disciplinary code to assist the staff in dealing with behavioral problems, if and when necessary. These procedures are designed to provide a fun and safe atmosphere for all participants.

  • Step one includes speaking to child and parent/guardian.
  • Step two includes speaking to child and parent/guardian, in addition to disciplinary action of some form that day (ex. sitting out of a camp activity).
  • Step three includes speaking to child and parent/guardian, disciplinary action, and the possible dismissal of the child from camp if proper behavior is not forthcoming.
  • The Mount’s Day Camp Program aims to prevent bullying, hitting, swearing and/or name calling within our camp through positive reinforcement and peer reconciliation.
  • Should you wish to discuss this policy, please contact the Recreation Coordinator by calling 902-457-6420 prior to an incident.

Inclusion Support

Inclusion Support

Requests for inclusion support in our PD & March Break camps are managed on a case-by-case basis, and are dependent on the recruitment of qualified staff.

Please note that by not disclosing the needs of a participant prior to registration, we may be required to withdraw the participant from the program until appropriate supports can be put in place or become available.
