The Mount Fitness Centre (MFC) is centrally located off the Bedford Highway at 131 Lumpkin Road, the MFC offers a range of convenient, affordable program options to add a little fun in your daily routine. Below you’ll find information regarding our facility.

Mount Fitness Conditioning Centre

The Conditioning Centre hosts our cardio and weight training equipment. It is approximately 1,600 square feet and houses the following equipment:

Parking Permits – Community Members 

Permits are required at all times.
Vehicles without a valid parking pass may be ticketed by HotSpot App parking enforcement.

  • Parking permits are issued to all Mount Fitness Centre Community Members who hold a valid facility membership or are currently registered in a course/program offered by the facility.
  • Mount Fitness Centre Parking Permits are only valid at designated parking spots in MSVU parking lots.
  • Permits are not valid at parking meters, fire lanes, street parking, etc. Please review all parking rules below.
  • FREE Mount Fitness Centre Parking Permits:
    • Can be issued only to community members with valid membership or recreation program registrations.
    • Valid Monday-Friday between 4:00pm-11:00pm and operational hours on Saturdays & Sundays.
    • During a specified Recreation Program time.
    • Have a maximum 3 hour time limit per day.

Daytime parking permits can be purchased by current members at the Mount Fitness Centre front desk in 3, 6, and 12 month terms. Please call 902-457-6420 for details.

MSVU Students, Faculty, and Staff members are not eligible for a Mount Fitness Centre permit.

MSVU Parking on Campus Information 


Mount Fitness Centre Parking Pass Rules:

  • Please adhere to all speed limit regulations and parking signage on campus.
  • Permits cannot be shared.
  • Parking permits must be attached to the rear view mirror or taped in the windshield behind the rear view mirror with the permit face up so the information can be visible through the windshield.
  • Lost or stolen permits need to be reported to the Mount Fitness Centre Customer Service Desk immediately. Permits are required at all times or you may be issued a parking ticket.
  • Mount Fitness Centre Parking Permits are only valid at designated parking spots in MSVU parking lots.
  • Tickets can be issued to any vehicle for parking:
    – Without a clearly displayed permit
    – In a non parking areas including fire lanes, roadways, or in front of fire hydrants or fire escape routes, lawns or patios
    – Blocking walkways, loading areas, truck turning areas
    – In designated areas (i.e. resident parking, health services, etc.)

Any violation of these regulations can lead to parking tickets which can range from $25-$100 or towing at the owners expense.


If you do not have a parking pass, you can pay for hourly parking using the HotSpot parking app.

The Mount Fitness Centre has 2 Locker Rooms:

–  Female Community, Staff & Faculty, and MSVU Students
–  Male Community Staff, & Faculty, and MSVU Students

Each locker room has numerous lockers, a private bathroom and individual shower stalls.

Day Use Lockers:

Day use lockers are free of charge. You may bring your own lock, use a locker while you are working out and remove all items when you leave.

Locker Rental:

Locker rentals coincide with the Mount’s academic school year.

Year Rental: September 1 – August 15
