Several paths to a rewarding career
Bachelor of Business Administration
Over the four years you study for a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), you’ll receive in-depth education in the principles and practices of business including: accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, tourism and hospitality management. You can choose majors and minors in accounting, management and marketing. You may also take minors in non-business disciplines.
If you wish, you can complete a General BBA degree, without a major, minor or concentration. If you want a basic, well-rounded understanding of business operations and practices, this option may be the right one for you.
In your second year, you will be eligible to enter the Co-operative Education BBA program. If you choose this option, you will complete three paid co-op work terms. Each work term is a full unit of academic coursework. That means that the Co-op BBA consists of 23 units of study over four years. Each co-op work term is in your field of study and consists of a minimum of 13 weeks of full-time, paid employment.

The Honours Bachelor of Business Administration
You have the option of completing an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration during the regular four-year program. The difference is that you will have special course selections, and you must complete an honours thesis. If you wish to take the Honours BBA, you must apply after completing 12.5 units in the regular BBA degree program with a GPA of 3.0 in all of the required courses.
If you complete a regular BBA, with or without Co-operative Education, and want to earn the Honours BBA, you may complete an Honours Certificate. You simply need to meet the requirements for the Honours degree. If you achieve the Honours Certificate after you have earned your BBA, your credentials will be the equivalent of an Honours BBA.

The Certificate and Diploma Programs
If a four-year BBA is not the right program for you, you can still earn a solid business education with academic credentials in two other programs: certificate and diploma. You can also take these programs in sequence, earning the appropriate credential, as you work toward your BBA degree. This gives you the opportunity to earn your degree with less of an up-front financial or time commitment.
The Certificate in Business Administration consists of 6.0 units in business administration. When you complete the program, you will have a basic understanding of the core business functions of management, marketing and accounting, with an appreciation of how business interacts with the economy. Please note that this program takes more than one academic year to complete. Also, when you complete the program, you can build on your Certificate by working towards a Diploma in Business Administration, or you apply for the BBA degree program.
The Diploma in Business Administration consists of 12 units of study, including the 6.0 units in the Certificate in Business Administration. If you have earned a Certificate in Business Administration, you can enter this program and earn your diploma just by completing the additional 6.0 units of study. Once you have your Diploma in Business Administration, you can get your BBA by completing another 8.0 units of study. If you are entering the program without a certificate, you should expect to spend more than two years to earn your diploma.
With the flexibility of the stepping stone approach of certificate-diploma-degree, you can follow your dream of getting a university education while making time for family, work and self.
