Beyond Plagiarism: Fostering Academic Integrity in the Age of Generative AI

Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 7:00pm-8:30pm (on campus in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), 3rd floor of the Rosaria Student Centre.)

This lecture will explore the evolving landscape of academic integrity in higher education, moving beyond traditional notions of plagiarism to address the ethical challenges and opportunities presented by generative AI and other advanced technologies. Dr. Eaton will unpack her award-winning postplagiarism framework, which focuses on how to develop educational practices that uphold human dignity and social justice. The session will introduce practical strategies for faculty, students, and administrators to foster a culture of integrity, ensuring that technology serves as a tool for learning rather than a substitute for original thought and ethical conduct.
