Adjunct Professor

Dr. Nesreen Elkord is an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Child and Youth Study at Mount Saint Vincent University and with the Faculty of Education at University of Windsor. As a teacher educator, she mentors teacher candidates in community-engaged and school-based placements that support English language learners and newcomer families. She holds a PhD in Education (Social, Cultural, and Political Contexts) from the University of Windsor.

Dr. Elkord’s scholarship centers on advancing equitable opportunities for disadvantaged and minority students in Canadian public schools. Using qualitative, participatory, and narrative approaches, she examines how culturally sustaining, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive pedagogies shape belonging, language development, and academic success.
