Bridging Worlds: A Mi’kmaw Student’s Journey Toward Leadership in Indigenous Tourism

Growing up in Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation, Gabriele Robitaille’s journey from oyster farmer and caregiver to tourism student at Mount Saint Vincent University is one of perseverance and purpose. Through the Kinu Tourism Project, he’s found a path that connects his Mi’kmaw roots, passion for hospitality, and leadership potential—culminating in a transformative co-op experience at Fairmont Lake Louise. Now, he’s driven to help shape the future of authentic Indigenous tourism in Mi’kma’ki and beyond.
