The Caring Community Code 2025-2026 is the Residence Life Model for students living in residence at Mount Saint Vincent University. Our Caring Community is located on the upper campus in Assisi Hall, the Birches, and Westwood. Each area works towards a strong and engaged community led by a trained staff member i.e., Resident Assistant (RA), and three DONs overseeing and supporting the RAs during our phased approach to rebuilding our critical mass on campus. Our community code outlines the policies, procedures, and expectations for residents in Assisi Hall, the Birches, and Westwood. It contains elaborative information including:

  1. Introduction to the Caring Community concept
  2. Residence Life Team structure and roles
  3. Moving in and out procedures
  4. Withdrawal and refund policies
  5. Detailed residence life policies (e.g., alcohol, cannabis, noise, guests)
  6. Conduct process and points system
  7. Residence life procedures (e.g., laundry, mail, maintenance)
  8. Additional information on leadership opportunities, security, and student services

The Code aims to foster a supportive and engaging living environment while maintaining safety and respect for all residents. It serves as an essential resource for students to understand their rights and responsibilities while living in MSVU’s residence community. We are excited to welcome students back to campus and are eager to help new students begin their journey! Let’s work together to make this a memorable experience for everyone while maintaining a healthy and safe living environment.
