The Mount Mentors

The Mount Mentors are here to help you. They know what it’s like to be an MSVU student because they are MSVU students! Think of them like a cross between a personal tour guide and an older sibling, who can answer your questions and provide you with advice on how to get the most out of the upcoming year. And they really mean it when they say: Ask Us Anything.

The Mount Mentors work as a team to ensure that you have the best experience possible at MSVU. They’ll reach out to you throughout the year, but you can also contact the Mount Mentors in a number of ways:

Nicolle Bowes Cashen, Transition and Retention Program Manager

Nicolle is standing in front of a green bush. She is wearing a pink shirt, and has yellow hair and blue eyes.

I was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia (and proud of it!) and after finishing my undergraduate degree, I lived in Tokyo, Japan teaching English and then in Vancouver working at a language school before returning to Halifax to launch MSVU’s English for Academic Preparation Program back in 2008.

As my title suggests, in this role I work to ensure your first year at MSVU is a great year and oversee a number of transition and retention programs. I’m excited to be working with this year’s group of Mount Mentors to help support you during your first year at MSVU.

If you have any questions or concerns about Mount 101 or the Mount Mentors, please contact me. When I’m not at work, you can find me spending time with my family, reading, or moderately exercising. Contact me at nicolle.bowes@msvu.ca or 902 457 5511.
