The Mount would like to welcome Coastal Sports and Wellness physiotherapy and massage therapy to the Health Office in Assisi.

Coastal is now providing physiotherapy and massage therapy and accupuncture in the Health Office in Assisi to students, university staff and faculty as well as to the community. They are a multidisciplinary clinic who provide clients with exceptional treatment to maximize health and well-being with a belief in investing time in preventative healthcare. They will also be offering dietician services, accupuncture and chiropractor with the possibility for an osteopath in the near future.

They offer direct billing to most insurance companies.

Please feel free to ask for appointment times outside of the set hours. We are looking at extending opening times as soon as possible.

Stephanie is a recent graduate from Northumberland College of Massage and Hydrotherapy , 2016 and also possesses a diploma in Occupational and Physical Therapy Assisting from Conestoga College in Kitchener Ontario. She is a member in good standing with the Massage Therapy Association of Nova Scotia as well as a "certificate candidate" with the Canadian Sports Massage Therapy Association.

She has completed a sports specific outreach program at ICT and has had years of experience coaching elite athletes in competitive diving and swimming, as well as running sports camps in Ontario. Stephanie has an interest treating sport related injuries and helping her clients reach their physical goals with deep tissue therapy, myofascial releasing and NeuroKinetic Therapy.

Stephanie enjoys spending time by the ocean with her little family and working on her personal fitness.

    Laura Gfeller B.Ed, PT

    Laura Gfeller is a physiotherapist and thrilled to be joining the team at Coastal. Laura believes in a comprehensive approach to treatment, and will work with you to achieve results specific to your individual goals. She has special interest in working with runners, and cyclists and has additional training in these areas. Laura combines soft tissue release techniques, dry needling, joint mobilization, and kinesiology taping techniques in conjunction with functional exercise to help you recover from, and prevent further injury.

    Laura developed a passion for the profession as a chronically injured runner, who made herself a second home at the local physiotherapy clinic. Laura completed her bachelor’s education at Dalhousie University before completing her Masters of Science (Physiotherapy) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario in 2014. Through her studies, Laura had the opportunity to treat clients of all abilities, and from all walks of life, ranging from professional athletes to individuals with spinal cord injuries, and cardiorespiratory disorders.

    When Laura is not treating, you can find her on her bike, paddling on the lake, or training for her next marathon or triathlon.

    Scosha Diamond is a Registered Acupuncturist, Shamanic Reiki Teacher, and a Medical Intuitive. Scosha’s vision is to live in a world where health, balance and love are a primary focus, whereas inspiring wisdom for the development of wholistic medicine. Her choices to be an active leader in the field of medicine; meaning an understanding of leading and following to maintain wellness of self, and better serve the community from heart/mind consciousness.

    She recently graduated from The Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), in 2016 with honors. Prior to her choice of studying Acupuncture and TCM she was working with communities as a frontline sexual health educator. This avenue was a chest piece in following the path of nature’s health, and what medicine means. She has also been practicing Reiki for over 5 years.

    Scosha’s interests are simple, enjoyment of nature and the pleasures that wholeness provides. She identifies as an indigenous 2 spirit-woman, she was born and raised in a northern town in Labrador and shares love with her family.
