Renewal of credit transfer agreement also celebrated at Spring Convocation

Ramona with 2+2 studentsAs 99 students crossed the stage on a beautiful afternoon at Bermuda College, the Mount’s President Ramona Lumpkin was proud to be in attendance to award 17 degrees to graduates of the university’s 2+2 programs.

“Convocation is such a proud moment for each of the Mount’s new graduates,” says Dr. Lumpkin. “It was a great pleasure to join Bermuda College in congratulating our students and I was thrilled to be able to celebrate their accomplishments with them in person.”

The 2+2 program with Bermuda College has been in place since 2000, allowing students to seamlessly transfer credits from their college education toward a university degree from the Mount. The 17 graduating students were able to complete both a two-year program from Bermuda College and a degree in Business Administration or Child & Youth Studies from the Mount in just four years.

Dr. Lumpkin’s visit also marked an important occasion for both the Mount and Bermuda College as a renewal of the articulation agreement was signed for the coming five years, set to last until 2018.

“The co-operation between our institutions has been beneficial in so many ways,” says Dr. Lumpkin. “It is a privilege to allow Bermuda College students to continue pursuing their academic careers and we look forward to following their achievements both in and outside of the classroom.”

The Mount holds similar agreements with the New Brunswick Community College (Business Administration), the Nova Scotia Community College (Business Administration, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Child & Youth Studies), Holland College (Business Administration, Tourism & Hospitality), and Lasalle College (Business Administration, Tourism & Hospitality Management).
