Dr. Kim Kienapple
Dr. Kim Kienapple joined the Mount in July, 1984 in the Department of Child and Youth Study after receiving a Master of Arts and PhD from Purdue University in Child Development. Throughout his time at the Mount, Dr. Kienapple has served three terms as department chair, has been a member of Senate and many Senate committees. Since 2001, Dr. Kienapple has been a co-director of the Centre of Excellence for Children and Adolescents with Special Needs. This nation-wide research and education consortium provides a range of services including policy advice to governments, collaborative research projects and practical advice to professionals and parents. Dr. Kienapple has been the board chairperson for a number of regional child care centres and educational institutions. He was also the President of the Canadian Association for Teacher Education. Locally, he has been an active volunteer with many child and youth serving organizations.
