The first stop on campus for an Indigenous student should be the Indigenous Student Centre (ISC) to gain support in an educational and culturally engaging space on the Mount campus.
As an Indigenous student, the first resource you should check out for funding is your local Band council. Often, Status students can receive direct funding from their Band.
Indigenous Services Canada
Another resource you should check out as a Status or Inuit student planning to enroll in post-secondary education is the Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP) available through Indigenous Services Canada. This website will explain who is eligible for funding, what costs are covered and how to apply. As well, it will lead you through additional federal assistance available to Aboriginal students.
