In recognition of our 150th anniversary, MSVU is proud to be part of the team hosting the former First Lady Michelle Obama in Halifax this October! The lead organizer for the event is the Nova Scotia Co-operative Council.
And we’re especially proud to be leading the HER Impact program aimed at providing access to this great event to underrepresented individuals, towards ensuring inclusivity, and supporting diversity and student opportunity.
Said MSVU President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Joël Dickinson, “We have been – and continue to be trailblazers and former First Lady Michelle Obama is the trailblazer of our time. We already feel like she is part of our community, we share the same values and commitments – to social justice, to equity, to diversity and inclusion, and to the realization that education is truly the great equalizer.”
