Submitting your graduate program application

To apply to a graduate program at Mount Saint Vincent University, follow the instructions below. Please review these instructions carefully to ensure your application is complete.

Your application will be reviewed once it is complete and we have received all supporting documents, including the application fee. Incomplete files will result in processing delays and impact your application assessment.

To be considered for admission, please submit all documentation by the deadlines listed below. Applications received after the application deadline will be considered ONLY if there is space available in the program.

Use one application for each graduate program, including non-degree graduate study. If you are applying to several programs, please submit separate applications for each one.

PhD Program Application

If you are interested in applying for the Inter-University PhD in Educational Studies, you may find the PhD application at Nova Scotia’s PhD in Educational Studies website.

  1. Online Application for Admission Form: Complete all sections of the Application for Admission form. See the Apply Now section.
  2. Application Fee: Submit a non-refundable application fee of $50 CAD for domestic applicants and $90 CAD for international (Visa) applicants (effective August 31, 2023). You can pay this application fee online with a Visa or Mastercard after you have submitted the online Application for Admission form.
  3. Submit your Supporting Documents: Please refer to the Upload Graduate Application Supplementary Documents web page for step by step instructions on how to complete and submit your supplementary application documents.

The deadlines to apply for individual graduate programs are listed below. Some programs continue to accept applications after the application deadline. To find out whether a program is still accepting applications, email graduate@msvu.ca.

Notes:

1. Master of Education cohort programs maintain individual application deadlines. To find out about these deadlines, contact the Faculty of Education at education@msvu.ca or 902.457.6178 (toll-free within Canada: 1-877-433-2889).

2. Master of Education and Master of Arts in Education programs in Educational Foundations and Lifelong Learning and Research Master of Arts (Education) programs accept applications year-round if space is available. To find out whether these programs are accepting applications for the upcoming academic term, contact the Faculty of Education at education@msvu.ca or 902.457.6178 (toll-free within Canada: 1-877-433-2889)
