The logo for the Two-Eyed Seeing ProgramOn October 22, the Two-Eyed Seeing Program at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) will be unveiling a mural created by four Mi’kmaw women who represent various generations: Jessica Jerome, Grace Campbell-LeBlanc, Dr. Krista Collier-Jarvis, and Cheyenne Hardy.

The mural will be a new permanent installation in MSVU’s Library to teach others about Mi’kmaw history and two-eyed seeing and to reflect the relationship between MSVU and the Mi’kmaw community.

The Two-Eyed Seeing Library Art Project is funded by The President’s Fund Special Projects Program, which is generously supported by MSVU alumni and friends, as well as NSERC PromoScience.

All are welcome to join in this event.

Presenters will include:

  • Opening drumming and song by Florence Blackett
  • Jeannie Bail, University Librarian
  • Dr. Krista Collier-Jarvis, MSVU faculty member in the English department and one of the artists
  • Cathy LeBlanc, Two-Eyed Seeing Program Coordinator

MSVU is located in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), part of Mi’kma’ki, the unceded ancestral territory which remains the homeland of the Mi’kmaw People.
