To the MSVU community,

June is a special time across Canada—a time to honour, celebrate, and deepen our understanding of the rich heritage, diverse cultures, and invaluable contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. While our commitment to truth and reconciliation is ongoing and essential every day, National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21 offer a meaningful opportunity to come together in celebration and learning.

At the heart of this month’s activities is the Indigenous Student Centre (ISC), whose team has been thoughtfully preparing a series of events designed to inspire connection, reflection, and community. These events are more than just celebrations—they are invitations to listen, learn, and grow in our understanding of Indigenous histories and ways of knowing.

We warmly invite you to join us on campus throughout June. Whether you’re attending your first event or have been part of this journey for years, your participation matters. Together, let’s celebrate culture, honor stories, and learn more about Indigenous Peoples.
