Halifax Regional Police (HRP) have confirmed that there is no threat on campus and have lifted the campus wide lockdown. Some police presence may continue, but HRP has confirmed that it is safe to leave campus.

The MSVU campus will be closed for the remainder of the day (May 29). All classes, exams, and programs will be rescheduled.

If you left campus and left personal items behind, those items will be kept safe and can be picked up tomorrow.

We understand this may have been difficult for our community. If you would like to talk to someone, student support services are available at Good 2 Talk Line: Good2Talk offers free, confidential support services to post-secondary students and is available at 1-833-292-3698.

On campus supports are also available with our Counselling Services team by calling 902-457-6567 or counselling@msvu.ca .

Our Faculty and Staff can access our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supports at Telus Health by calling 1-844-880-9142.

Thank you for your support and cooperation. Our Incident Response Team will be reviewing our response to this incident.

As a reminder, all members of the MSVU community should sign up for Mount Alert, our mass notification system. Mount Alert is used to notify students, faculty and staff if the University is closed for an emergency. You can receive a message to your cell phone via text, e-mail, and/or phone call. By default, alert messages will be sent to all students, faculty and staff via @msvu.ca email addresses.
