Dear MSVU Community,
At MSVU, we celebrate all that makes each of us unique. This Pride season, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a campus where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued for who they are.
While Pride is both a celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and a commemoration of the history of the gay rights movement, it’s also a reminder of the need for continued advocacy towards equity, inclusion and belonging. Hard-won rights are under renewed threat – not just in countries oceans away, but also here at home.
We stand with each other in moments of celebration but also when challenges arise. And we will continue to proudly stand with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community all year long.
Pride BBQ
All MSVU students, faculty and staff are invited to the Annual MSVU Pride BBQ on Thursday, July 16 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Rosaria Dining Hall. Please RSVP by emailing events@msvu.ca before the end of the day on Friday, July 10.
Halifax Pride Parade
The Halifax Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, July 18 and the entire MSVU community is invited to join our 2026 parade entry. The parade will start at 12 p.m.; participants will need to arrive at the marshalling area around the Halifax Commons at an earlier time (details to come). Information on this year’s parade route and parade accessibility can be found here.
Please email events@msvu.ca by Friday, July 10 to sign up and to receive updates in the lead up to the parade. Participants are asked to wear their Pride t-shirts from last year. There is a limited supply of t-shirts available for new participants. T-shirts can be picked up on campus during the week leading up to the parade.
Happy Pride!
