Mount Saint Vincent University is committed to equity and diversity in employment and believes that the excellence the institution is known for is enhanced through the diversity of its faculty and staff.  The University community benefits from shared experiences with people from diverse backgrounds who bring new and varied perspectives to academic endeavour and community life.

The Mount recognizes the importance of reversing the historic disadvantage in employment experienced by the four designated groups: Aboriginal people, persons with a disability, racially visible persons, and women.  As an institution that advocates the education and advancement of women, we are well positioned to be an ally to all the designated groups.

The Mount has an Employment Equity Committee which acts as an advisory body in the development, implementation and monitoring of the employment equity plan and as a forum in which employment equity issues can be discussed.  The Committee is made up of representatives from our Student Union and employee groups who are passionate about creating a community of diversity at the Mount.
