Looking to create your own international learning experience? MSVU’s Summer Abroad Programs offer flexible options to suit your goals:

  • Take part in a short summer program at one of MSVU’s partner institutions
  • Or design your own journey with a semester or full year at a university outside of our current partner network. This path gives you the freedom to choose where you study while earning credit toward your degree.

 

Note: You’ll pay tuition and fees directly to your host institution, based on their rates for visiting students.

 

Summer Opportunities

These partner universities offer summer programs of shorter duration. Fees are paid directly to the host institution and are usually all-inclusive (except airfare and insurance). Please visit each website to find out more about their summer offerings.

Application Steps for Summer Programs

  1. Decide on the program you want to take
  2. Submit the completed Application Form by January 5th
  3. Once nominated by the IEC, submit your completed Confirmation Form along with any necessary documents that are required.
  4. Attend the mandatory orientation at the IEC (this is when we will discuss all the next steps to organize your summer abroad.)
  5. Attend the mandatory pre-departure workshop at the IEC (this is where we help you prepare to leave!!)

Study in a non-MSVU's Partner Institution

If the institution where you would like to study is not one of MSVU’s partners, you will still apply to the International Education Centre. This will provide us with the information we need to support you with your international experience.

 Application Deadlines:

  • Jan 31st for the following fall or winter semester
  • Jul 31st for Winter Semester of the next calendar year

Application Procedure:

Other Scholarships:

The 2025 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship supports Canadian students interested in studying Mandarin in Taiwan on a short-term basis, ranging from three to twelve months. Students also have the option of taking a two-month summer course.
