The International Education Centre is always dedicated to our students’ growth from both academic and professional perspectives. We offer various volunteer opportunities for students to develop their skills. Your participation will be rewarded with the Co-Curricular Record (CCR).

Sign up if you are interested in becoming a student leader during our orientation. We are looking for students who want to help welcome our new international students and want to develop some leadership skills.

A Regional Representative is a vital channel of communication between the University and the students from your region. Your contribution will make our university a better one.

This opportunity will enhance skills in communication, administration, and MS Office Suite.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm for learning and developing teamwork skills
  • Excellent time management skills and flexible schedule (lunch hours and etc…)

Training & Supervision

  • Attends general volunteer orientation
  • Completes office orientation which includes training on the following:
    • Phone System Tutorial
    • Excel spreadsheet and data management
    • Filing and recordkeeping

WUSC is a Canadian international development non-profit organization dedicated to improving education, employment and empowerment opportunities for youth, women and refugees in more than 25 countries around the world. For over fifty years, we have empowered our network of post-secondary institutions, private sector partners and volunteers to help build a more equitable and sustainable world for youth.

In the WUSC Local Committee, our volunteers support students in the Student Refugee Program (SRP) in different ways.

If you would like to be involved in welcoming our SRP students, helping them settle in Halifax and even becoming a mentor to them, then this is the committee for you!
