Students must ensure they:

  • Are a Mount student for the 2026/27 academic year and registered in 1.5 units in both the Fall and Winter terms (1.0 unit in each term if registered with Accessibility Services)
  • If a domestic student, must have either a government student loan, sponsorship or bank funding (if applicable)
  • Are living in Canada and available to work on campus
  • Have a valid Canadian social insurance number and bank account
  • Hold a valid study permit (if an international student)

Students can apply in ONE email to financial.aid@msvu.ca by submitting a package:

  • Summer 2026 Student Works Budget Sheet
  • Proof of student loan or student line of credit (if applicable)
  • One resume (PDF preferred) with your name in the file name
  • One cover letter (PDF preferred) with your name in the file name, highlighting 3 to4 skills that can apply to the group of jobs to which they’re applying
  • A list of Career Connects Job ID number(s) and position title(s) that they are applying to (example: Job ID 12345 – Communications Assistant)

Welcome to Career Services at MSVU! We’re open year-round to help all students and soon-to-be-graduates — up to 12 weeks after your last semester when you graduate — explore their career path. Feeling uncertain about your program choice? Need to update your cover letter or resume? Some support for your job search would be helpful? Applying to graduate school or internship? We can help you find your way.

We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from June 1 to August 31) in EMF 141.


Career Counselling is part of MSVU Counselling Services. To book an appointment with a career counsellor, email counselling@msvu.ca, call 902 457 6567, or visit the Student Services desk at EMF 108 (below the library). Appointment types include career indecision, resume and cover letter review, part-time, summer, or full-time job search; interview coaching, graduate school or internship application, and Strong Interest Inventory assessment.

Appointments are available Monday to Friday in person, by phone, or by video via Jane App.
