The Department of Communication Studies offers a range of programs spanning Arts, Sciences, Professional and Graduate studies.The ongoing evolution of our programs strives to build on expertise in public relations while also reflecting a broader definition of communication.
This ensures that our learning environment keeps pace with a dynamic and complex global landscape.

Bachelor of Public Relations

Inspired by a desire for public relations excellence, students will explore various theoretical perspectives to gain confidence and understanding of public relations as a practice focused on the ethical and strategic management of relationships.

Bachelor of Arts (Communication)
This program is designed to meet the needs of students interested in an undergraduate degree in Communication, grounded on a foundation of communication and media theory, research and ethics.

Master of Public Relations / Master of Arts (Communication)
You can choose from two Master’s degree programs that will help you to become a scholar, a teacher, or a highly-qualified professional with leadership potential. Master of Public Relations students complete 10 classes, the last of which is a project seminar course, while MA (Communication) students complete 8 classes and a thesis.

Graduate Certificate in Health Communication & Aging
This 2.0 unit graduate certificate program is offered jointly by the Departments of Communication Studies and Family Studies and Gerontology and provides students with an understanding of the interplay between human communication, aging and health.
