Caritas Day: Small acts combined to make a big impact

On January 25, the Mount celebrated Caritas Day, a day of caring founded by the Sisters of Charity. A number of events were held throughout the day, including a neighbourhood collection of non-perishable food items for the Mount's Food Resource Centre. Close to 200 members of the Mount community joined forces to make a big impact.

Inspiration for teaching, advocacy rooted in Portugal

Dr. Fernando Nunes, Assistant Professor in the Department of Child and Youth Study, came to Canada at just eight years old. With only his parents by his side, adapting to Canadian life was less than easy for Fernando, who has since spent decades working to help new Canadians like his own family better adjust to life in Canada.
