Orientation Week 2018

It's an exciting time for students who have decided to pursue or further post-secondary studies. Orientation includes a series of events and activities designed to help the newest Mount students explore all that awaits, both socially and academically.

Matriculation Ceremony

Students will wear their graduation robes and be officially welcomed into the Mount community by university officials. This ceremony marks the official start of your academic program at the Mount. You will be lead through your first (but not your last!) academic procession. 

Parents are encouraged to come (and bring Kleenex!) and witness their students be inducted into Mount Saint Vincent University. Have friends or family who can't make it, but would love to watch? They can tune in live on the Mount's Facebook page.

New Student Welcome Dinner

Kick off your university experience the right way by attending the annual Mount Saint Vincent University New Student Welcome Dinner! Please RSVP to or text 902-809-6788.

Start your New Student Online Orientation

This is your online orientation guide that is provided to assist you through your school year! You will find a variety of information about upcoming orientation events and sessions as well as information you will need to know to stay prepared, informed and ready at the Mount! Orientation Kits

A Mount Orientation Kit is a SWAG BAG and is every new student's all-in-one Orientation package for events, university gear, and student specials.In each kit you will find:

  • Information about everything the Mount has to Offer
  • Your Orientation Week All Access Bracelet
  • Coupons for freebies and discounts at local and campus businesses
  • Tickets to all ORIENTATION events
  • Your official MOUNT ORIENTATION T-shirt
  • University gear and swag such as: lanyards, water bottles, clip boards, note pads, umbrellas, pens, flashlights, mugs etc. - all in a special Mount Orientation kit bag!

This event will introduce you to the many services and resources available on campus. You'll be able to get your student ID, UPASS, parking pass, and meal cards!

Join your Students' Union outside for our annual orientation BBQ. Burgers, dogs, and fun in the sun while you continue exploring the Mount Carnival!

Race around Halifax performing fun tasks with your new friends, all while raising money for Shinerama and Cystic Fibrosis awareness. Do not miss the fun!
