Math Placement Test

Students who plan on taking MATH 1102 and MATH 1113 (Pre-Calculus I and Calculus I) must take a math placement test. The test will take place online and more information can be found on the Math Department’s webpage.

Register for one of the three test dates by emailing (MSVUMath@msvu.ca) at least 24 hours ahead of time in order to receive the link and password for the test site.

Success in the Classroom

Attend this info session on academic culture to deepen your understanding of academic culture at MSVU before classes even start. We’ll address cultural differences – and similarities – and how they impact your actions (and reactions) both inside and outside the classroom. We are so excited to meet you as you begin your university life! No matter where you come from in the world, International Student Orientation is a great way to prepare yourself for university life in Canada as well as meet other students across the world.

If you were not able to attend the online academic advising in the summer, here is another chance to meet your academic advisors before your programs start. Drop-in Advising opens from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the Centre for Academic Advising and Student Success (CAASS), Seton 303.

Indigenous Student Orientation, Friday, September 2, 10:00 a.m.

The Kina’masuti aqq Apognamasuti Indigenous Student Centre invites Indigenous students to an orientation that includes various workshops an an overview of campus and services to get oriented to MSVU.

A mandatory orientation for all new B.Ed. students. If you are registered in the B.Ed. program, check your email for more details and your full schedule. If you have any questions, contact Ashley Johnston, the B.Ed. Program Assistant.

Need help with course selection and registration for Fall 2022 courses? Drop in to the Centre for Academic Advising and Student Success (Seton 303) or email advising@msvu.ca to sign up for an appointment with an academic advisor. If there’s a wait time, you’ll receive a call when an appointment becomes available. Can’t make it on Tuesday? The CAASS is holding drop-in advising appointments from September 6-14.

Mount Mystics Home Opener, 1:00 pm

Cheer on the Mystics’ soccer teams in their home opener at the Halifax Mainland Commons.

Free transportation is available between the MSVU campus and the Mainland Commons. Buses depart Rosaria lobby at 12:20 pm, 12:40 pm, and 1:00 pm. Buses depart the Mainland Commons for the MSVU campus at 2:00 pm, 2:40 pm, and 3:00 pm.
