When you enroll in our Master of Education program in Curriculum Studies, you can choose from one of these areas of concentration:

  • General Curriculum Studies: Discover how educators and schools can accommodate different student needs and interests by critically examining curriculum theory and practice or the learning strategies within a particular field.
  • Supporting Learners with Special Needs and Exceptionalities (SLDNE): Explore how a school’s organizational structures and culture can affect student success by responding to students’ strengths, needs and interests. Examine ways to embrace diversity as a point of strength as you critically review strategies to develop curriculum, assess student development, and implement individual programming.
  • Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL): This concentration is offered jointly by the Mount and Saint Mary’s University. This program will help you to develop a deep understanding of teachers working with English as a second language learners.
  • Education of Young Adolescents: This program is currently under review.
