  • Charges for lost books or lost equipment (computers, tablets, etc.) are not eligible for this program.
  • Fines from other universities are not eligible for this program.

Eligible donations:

  • Most non-perishable food and personal care items merit a fine waive of $3/each.
  • Packages and containers should be of regular grocery store size or larger.
  • For mini-packs, sample-packs, snack-packs, and multi-packs, Library staff will estimate the value and waive fines accordingly.
  • High-demand items merit a fine waive of $5/each. Again, packages and containers must be of regular grocery store size or larger in order to qualify for the high-demand bonus.

Procedure:

  • Library staff will tally the number of items donated, the value of the fine reduction, and make note of it in our computer system. The patron’s account will then be credited.

Cash donations:

  • The Library welcomes cash donations to the Food Bank. Just ask a staff member.
