This is the most important event for international students at the Mount—and the best part is that International Student Orientation is free! All new international students must register and attend.

Orientation gives you a great head start on what it’s like to live in Canada, on what to expect when studying at the Mount, and of course on meeting new people from all over the world. You’ll have a chance to find your way around campus and to discover what the Mount and the great city of Halifax has to offer.

Date and Time:

New International Student Orientation: Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10am.

This year's New International Student Orientation is  jam-packed with activities and events that include:

  • a tour of the Mount’s campus
  • a Canadian cultural orientation and Mount academic orientation
  • bank account set-up and assistance in applying for Nova Scotia ID card
  • information about Canadian immigration regulations and your health-insurance policy
  • a chance to meet other students and the people available to help you while you complete your studies at the Mount

Free Airport Pick-Up Service: Sunday, January 5, 2020

If you want to be greeted at the Halifax International Airport (Halifax Airport Information) and brought to your new home on the Mount's campus, please sign up using the form found below.

If you are going to live in the on-campus residence AND plan to arrive before Sunday, January 5, 2020, you need to book a place to stay outside the university until the move-in date. Please contact your International Student Advisor, Kay Balite, at msvu.ca to learn more about temporary off-campus accommodations.
