Stay active at home during COVID-19 closures!

During a period like this there are multiple reasons why we should be continuing to exercise or even starting a gentle routine. 

• We need healthy outlets for our anxiety, frustration, anger or boredom. 

• Exercise helps to boost the immune system and that is more important than ever right now.

• It can be challenging to exercise at the best of times so having something simple to follow along with and in some cases joining a community of people online who are doing the same workouts will be a lot more motivating and assist with adherence.

These sites have qualified professionals and in most cases offer various options for intensity (always make adjustments for yourself when necessary though!)

There are great elements from each of these providers but that doesn’t mean that when watching we should believe that everything is 100% correct. Be cautious and follow your own instincts or do extra research if something doesn’t seem right.

The Mount Fitness Centre is here for you!  This Halifax gym is conveniently located on the Mount Saint Vincent University campus and has been providing quality fitness, wellness and recreation programming to both Mount students and the surrounding community for over 30 years. If you are looking to have fun, be social and improve your overall health & wellbeing, we can help with that!  

Fitness Classes

Throughout the entire year, our Fitness Centre offers a diverse selection of group fitness classes daily. These class are included in a fitness membership, class passes, and on a drop-in basis.

Recreation Programs

Our Recreation Programs (formerly Active Living) are designed to provide skills and cater to your needs at various levels of ability.
