"I was honoured to receive the Ruth Hammond Scholarship for my efforts in the BPR program and involvement at the Mount. Receiving the scholarship allows me to focus on my academics in the final semester of my degree without financial concern. Thank you to the generous donors for making this scholarship possible.”

4th Year BPR student & 2018 Ruth Hammond Scholarship recipient

At Mount Saint Vincent University, success begins with one key factor: opportunity.

Our students need opportunities that foster the pursuit of passion, innovative thinking and help them achieve more than they ever dreamed possible.

Unfortunately, for many students, the financial burden that comes with a university education often places this opportunity out of reach. But thankfully, we have the power to change that. Your gift to the Ruth Hammond Scholarship can ensure that a student who wishes to complete an exceptional education in public relations has the opportunity to do so.

The Ruth Hammond Scholarship is a $1,000 annual award recognizing outstanding academic achievement by a student entering their final year in the Bachelor of Public Relations degree program. The scholarship was first established and supported by Ruth’s friends and colleagues through the Canadian Public Relations Society and is now managed by the Mount.

Increasing scholarship support helps students like Courtney Goldie focus on their studies. By endowing the funds raised our University can ensure this scholarship is available for future generations of public relations students. With your support, we can raise the required $25,000 minimum endowment level to make that happen.

You know, first-hand, that an education from the Mount has the power to change lives through experiential learning opportunities, innovative programming and a commitment to academic excellence. You also know of the financial obligations required to pursue a university education.  Please join us in making a gift to the Ruth Hammond Scholarship and help create the opportunity Mount students need to succeed in their pursuit of a public relations degree.
