What is Shotokai Karate? This program is a non-competitive martial art that empowers children to improve themselves through practicing Karate-do. Karate is a fun way to be active and stay fit.

Program Information:

- Fees include three karate sessions a week, clients may wish to attend one session a week
or all sessions per week. - Location: Mount Fitness Centre, AGB Gymnasium
- Karate is for Children ages 7-15. Youth 15+ may register in the Adult Program
- A typical practice session:
- Warm-up followed by stretches.
- Division of the class into level groupings.
- Practice of basic techniques (kihon), partner practice (kumite), standardized group
forms (kata) or a combination/variation of these practices.

Instructor Biography: Randy Veinotte
Randy Veinotte is the Founder and Technical Director for the Shotokai
Karate Club. He started practicing Shotokai Karate in 1989 and opened
the MSVU dojo in 1992. He has his Fourth Degree Black Belt and has
been practicing martial arts for over 20 years.
Randy is certified in Nerve Impact Control Tactics (NICT) and has added
the use of pressure points to his karate practice. Distance and timing, coupled with NICT, wrist locks, and joint manipulations has transformed
his martial art into a more modern version of a very traditional style.
Randy is very open to practicing with other styles and has attended numerous seminars in Europe and the U.S.
