My Alum Story - Sarah

“After graduating from Mount Saint Vincent University, I worked for 1.5 years at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, while substitute teaching part-time in Halifax. I left the development department at the museum to pursue my passion for teaching and education, and started working as a Program Manager at Junior Achievement of NS in June 2013. Since starting at Junior Achievement, our program portfolio has grown to include a series of programs for youth ages 4-25 in community groups and schools across NS. I am privileged to be part of a team that reaches approximately 16000 youth each school year. In my time off from Junior Achievement, I am also a substitute teacher in CCRCE, and an EAL tutor. I also took a year off work to have my son, who is now 4 years old. My foundation at the Mount has allowed me to explore my career in education in many different capacities.”
