Courtney Davison, Student Liaison, Co-operative Education
The Co-op Team is here to support you at every step of your journey from professional development to co-op interviews and being on the job. Take a look at some of the resources our team has to offer:
For when you have no motivation to write that cover letter:
No worries! Log on to the co-op Moodle site and you will find sample cover letters to help with your writers block. Once you have created your first draft, email a copy to a Co-op Coordinator and they would be happy to take a look and provide you with feedback, they are here to provide support and help you succeed – don’t be afraid to utilize our services! You can email Scott (firstname.lastname@example.org), Lisa (email@example.com) or Keanan (firstname.lastname@example.org) a copy of your cover letter for review.
For when you are selected for an interview:
When you are selected for an interview, give us a call or stop by and see Courtney and she would be happy to book you in with a Coordinator to prep for your interview. A Coordinator will sit down with you and complete a mock interview to help you practice your responses. They will also discuss the employer you are interviewing with and potential questions.
For when you hear a rumor about a job posting or employer:
If you hear something that concerns you, or doesn’t sound quite right we encourage you to stop by the office and talk to a member of the team. Chances are we can clear it up for you right away. We want to keep lines of communication open and are here to support you.
For when you feel you don’t have enough time:
Being able to successfully manage your time is vital to your success in the co-op program. We understand balancing exams, major projects and life can be a challenge. If you are having a hard time, please stop by and see us. We would be happy to try and help you out. Our team is here for you – every step of the way and we want to support and help you in any way we can. Come and talk to us.
