New position profile

I am writing to share an update on the work of the Mount’s Presidential Search Committee.

At the committee’s meeting on Friday, June 10, members reviewed the aggregated input received through the recent presidential search survey. Thank you to all who responded to the survey – we heard from 218 members of the Mount community representing all key groups, including faculty, staff, students, Board members, alumnae, donors and senior leaders at partner organizations. Your input is invaluable to the process to select a new President for the University.

Based on that input, the Presidential Search Committee also recently finalized a position profile for the role of President and Vice-Chancellor. The profile captures opportunities, issues and challenges for the new President and details the role and mandate based on three priority areas: setting strategic direction, building relationships and championing development. You can view the full profile here.

From here, Laverne Smith & Associates – the firm hired to
lead a search plan and support the University’s Presidential Search Committee – will be further advertising the position and continuing conversations with potential candidates. We anticipate identifying a shortlist of candidates by early fall.

If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to submit your input, the presidential search survey remains open and can be accessed at this link. A reminder that all responses go directly to Laverne Smith & Associates and are held in confidence, with only aggregated information shared with the Committee. Also,
nominations for the role of President and Vice-Chancellor can be forwarded throughout the duration of the search to
