Susan Willis
One
year ago, opening a consulting firm was just a thought in Susan Willis’s
head. Now that thought is becoming a reality.
Susan, the executive director of
Point Pleasant Childcare Center, credits the Management Development for
Women program as one of the reasons why she’s following through with her
desire to start her own business.
“Successful completion of MDW gave
me insight into my personal strengths and the confidence I needed to
proceed with this initiative,” says Susan.
Kim Rhymes
Kim Rhymes can think of many reasons why she enjoyed Management
Development for Women – the most obvious being her promotion to Team
Leader as a result of enrolling in the program.
Previously,
Kim spent seven years working in the employee benefits field for
Maritime Life and a national pension and benefits consulting firm.
Although she was pleased with the knowledge she gained from this
experience, she felt the need to expand her skill set.
“I wanted to make myself more
marketable in other areas,” says Kim. “My manager saw the value in my
participation in MDW and realized that I was serious about developing my
skills. That is mainly how I received my promotion.”
Krista
Mosher-Cox

Krista Mosher-Cox was looking for a program with the content breadth of
an MBA that would easily fit in to her busy schedule. That’s when she
found Management Development for Women.
As a Program and Project Manager
with Aliant, Krista was ready to take the steps she thought were
necessary to advance in her career.
“I would like my next career move
to involve being a team leader,’ says Krista, “So I really wanted to
develop my people management skills.”
The MDW program provided Krista with
the opportunity to help round out the skills she requires to achieve
this career goal.
