Health Services 1

There have recently been seven confirmed cases of measles in Nova Scotia. Measles, mumps and rubella are all highly contagious illnesses caused by a virus which can affect both children and adults. People born between 1970 and 2007 will likely have only received one dose of the MMR vaccine. It is now recommended that people receive two doses. Please contact the Health Office in Assisi to book an appointment with the nurse. There are some restrictions: This vaccine is NOT recommended for pregnant women or women actively trying to conceive. It is also NOT recommended for people with allergies to MMR or its components or if the person is sick and or running a fever.
