Encouraging Research and Scholarship

The Mount's Research Office is here to offer support for your research needs. We are located in Evaristus 231 and can advise on:

• research and scholarship in the development of a successful and satisfying academic career
• Access to personal consultations about the ways and means to launch and to support research activity
• Mentorship and customized guidance on developing grant writing skills
• Grant proposal “how to” advice and tips
• Internal and salary-based grants for new scholars (please see Policies and Procedures)
• Regular e-mail announcements about projects, funding competitions, general information, and deadlines
• A project officer to assist in the coordination and development of major infrastructure, research collaboration, and salary support research proposals
• Array of information about funding sources
• Co-ordination and liaison with MSVU Public Affairs on dissemination
• Guidance on satisfying ethics in research provisions
• Building research teams and collaborations when opportunities arise
