CAURA EAST / CAREB East Conference 2011

Thank you for your interest in the CAURA East / CAREB East conference held at Mount Saint Vincent University. We are excited to be hosting this year’s conference and have an informative lineup of presenters that we think you will find interesting and pertinent to current issues. Below you will find information regarding registration and the activities we have planned.

REGISTRATION FEES

The Early Bird registration is $175 if you register on or before October 21, 2011.

Regular registration is $200 on and after October 22, 2011.

The conference fees include the fun event on Monday night which will be held at Hatfield Farms. If you wish to bring a guest, please indicate this on the registration form. An additional fee of $50.00 will be required for each additional guest.

REGISTRATION PAYMENT INFORMATION

Please print off the completed registration form and email or fax it to Cathleen Madgett with a credit card payment. We accept both VISA and MASTERCARD payments. You may also call Cathleen with your credit card payment.

If you wish to pay with a cheque, you may still email or fax your registration form in advance and send cheque payment through the Canada Post. If paying by cheque, please indicate if you have already registered and who the payment is for.  Please make your cheque payable to Mount Saint Vincent University. Full payment is due no later than Friday, November 18th.  Receipts will be available with your registration package on November 21, 2011.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Since the conference incurs certain expenses prior to the conference, it is necessary for the conference committee to impose a cancellation policy. All cancellations must be received by email as per the following schedule:

Cancellations received prior to Friday, November 4th – Full refund less a $50 administration fee

Cancellations received after Friday, November 4th – No refunds will be issued

Confirmation of cancellation will be received via email. All refunds will be provided by cheque. Substitutions from the same organization maybe made at any time prior to the conference at no charge.  Conference attendees who do not attend meals or both days, which are included in the registration fee, will not receive a refund equivalent to the cost of the event.

CONFERENCE MEALS

The conference lunches and refreshments will be held at Mount Saint Vincent University and provided by Chartwells. If you have any dietary concerns or preferences, please indicate this on your registration form so we can do our best to accommodate you.

The dinner event will be held at Hatfield Farms, which is about a 15 minute drive from the University. This is a casual event, so please dress appropriately in warm, comfortable clothes. We will be providing the meal options at the registration table, however if you have any dietary concerns, please indicate this on your registration form as well.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Hotel reservations can be made at QUALITY INN & SUITES located about 5 minutes from the University and located off Exit 2 on Hwy 102.  The hotel offers non-smoking rooms, a fitness centre, an indoor pool with an 80’ slide, Internet access and complimentary breakfast. We have held a block of 30 rooms at $85 per night. If the blocks of rooms are booked, please mention the CAURA EAST Conference upon registration. Please call (902) 444-6700 for reservations.

DIRECTIONS

The University is located on Bedford Highway and is accessible from Highway 102. Driving towards Halifax, take Exit 2 (by the Quality Inn) and turn left onto Kearney Lake Road. (If you are staying at the Quality Inn, turn right onto Kearny Lake, leaving the hotel). At a large intersection about a 1 km from the highway (you will be going down a large hill), you will need to turn left at the lights to stay on Kearney Lake. This will take you to Bedford Highway. Turn right onto Bedford Highway and about 2km away is the Mount. Turn right up Seton Avenue (really big hill past the main university entrance). On the right hand side you will see side avenues that will lead to parking. You may park in any designated permit perking (any parking that does not have a meter in front of it). Parking passes will be e-mailed to you upon receipt of payment for the conference.  The conference will be held in ROSARIA HALL in the Multi-Purpose Room on the main floor.
