The objective of the certificate is to give the student a basic introduction to the concepts of business administration.

Admission requirements for the Certificate in Business Administration are the same as for the Bachelor of Business Administration. Please refer to 2.1.5 Admission Requirements and 2.1.7 Additional Admission Requirements. Transfer or non-degree students must have a GPA of 2.0 over 3.0 units.

The Certificate in Business Administration is available to students in degree programs. Both the certificate and degree may be taken concurrently. If taken concurrently, the Principles Governing the Awarding of Multiple Credentials will be in effect. If not earned concurrently, the University regulations regarding a second credential will be in effect. Students are advised to review 2.1.9 Holders of University Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates and 2.1.10 Principles Governing the Awarding of Multiple Credentials during program planning and completion.

The certificate may be completed through distance learning on a part-time or full-time basis.

A Certificate in Business Administration requires successful completion of the following 6.0 units:

 ❏BUSI 22220.5 unit
 ❏BUSI 22300.5 unit
 ❏BUSI 22310.5 unit
 ❏ECON 11010.5 unit
 ❏ECON 11020.5 unit
 ❏0.5 unit of BUSI or THMT elective0.5 unit
 ❏1.0 unit of Arts and/or Science elective1.0 unit

 

Obtaining Credit for Previous Professional Study
Mount Saint Vincent University recognizes learning that applicants have acquired through institutes, corporate and/or on-the-job training programs and educational settings not normally eligible for transfer credit. Refer to 2.1.13 Challenge for Credit and  2.1.12 Prior Learning Assessment for more information.
