Research Grants:
Research Grant of $3,350.15 and Ethics Approval received for new research project, Workplace Learning in the Tourism and Hospitality Sector.  This is a joint project with Dr. Jeff Young and Dr. Sandi Findlay.  Data collection to begin in October, 2010.

Internal Research Grant, $4,735.35, 2005, for Practicing Public Firm Accountants and Workplace Learning (with Dr. J. Young, Professor R. Bagg and Professor E. Hicks)

Professional Activities and Publications:

Projects-
Hungarian CIDA Project: Developed (with Helen Mallette) the detailed outline of the curriculum for the Hungarian CIDA Project.  This was a three-week train the trainers program in Women’s Entrepreneurship Programs. Developed the five modules, Financial Considerations, in the New Venture Creation part of the training program, 2000. Taught the five modules entitled Financial Considerations, 2000.

Hungarian Project (1998-2001). Initiated and developed (with Dr. Helen Mallette) Training the Trainers: Women’s Entrepreneurship Program. Received a CIDA contribution of $346,423 for the program, which over three years (beginning in 1998), trained 24 Hungarian employment trainers each year to help them develop entrepreneurial training programs for women. The program focused on new centure creation with a special emphasis on learning tools and strategies for women’s entrepreneurial programs. It also assisted in the formation of a trainers’ association.

Slovak Project (1999-2001). Initiated and developed (with Dr. Helen Mallette) a training, monitoring and evaluation program for the Integra Foundation. Received a CIDA contribution of $266,081 for the program, which over 25 months (beginning in June, 1999), the Integra staff members, provided assistance in developing a management information system, policies for micro lending and training materials. It also provided monitoring and evaluation of Integra’s training and micro-loan operations, which target women at risk.
