Mount IT Grads: Where Are They Now?
The Mount's BAA Information Technology program has prepared graduates for a variety of exciting career options. The program focused on technology, communication and life-long learning, giving grads the skills to succeed for years to come.

Shira Collins, BAA IT '95, is an Account Manager with CTC TrainCanada. She sells computer training courses to government and corporate clients. CTC's products include Microsoft Certified courses and Business Soft Skills, as well as training for other applications. She has also worked as Operations Manager for the same company.
Wendy Cox, BAA IT '07, is the Command Information Systems Team Leader with the Department of National Defence. She manages a team of contractors and civilian Information Management and IT specialists who work together to analyse, design, code, test, implement and maintain the MCOIN system. MCOIN provides the Canadian Forces with command and control functionality that supports operational activities in Canada and abroad.
Gregory Davis, BA History/IT '08, is a Facilities/IT Assistant with Admiral Insurance. He handles computer hardware and software troubleshooting, maintains office equipment, and oversees site security. He has also trained as an insurance agent.
Deborah Day, BAA IT '06, is the Director of Information, Risk Management and Business Solutions for the Government of Nova Scotia. She is responsible for records, information, contract and project management, access and privacy controls, business continuity, emergency planning, insurance, audits, systems administration, and business/systems analysis.
Clint D'Souza, BAA IT '03, works as a Systems Administrator at Dubai Financial Services Authority in the UAE. He maintains servers, hardware appliances and security devices; conducts IT security audits; and manages software licensing. He assists with the IT aspects of contingency planning and implements servers, software and other productivity solutions.
Chris Felix, BAA IT '09, is a Database Coordinator with the Department of National Defence. He analyses and enhances existing databases and develops new databases as required by unit staff. He is also the IT Coordinator for his unit, which makes him responsible for troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, etc.
Sarah LaForest, BAA IT '00, is a Senior SAP Technical Consultant. She configures an SAP Human Capital Management Module and ensures that this system meets the Provincial District Health Authorities' requirements. Her major responsibilities also include business analysis and design.
Brad Logan, BAA IT '10, is a Senior Developer with GSCM Innovative Solutions. He says, "I have reached my goal of becoming a senior developer and project manager. I have had the opportunity to take on new and challenging responsibilities and continue to grow."
Linda MacLeod, BAA IT '95, is the Coordinator for Alternate Delivery at NSCC's School of Business. She is also an NSCC faculty member. She is responsible for the development and implementation of an Alternate Delivery Strategy for the School of Business. She also collaborates with various sectors of the school and college, including academic services, academic chairs, school faculty and Online Learning.
Shannon Miller, BAA IT '09, is the Systems Administrator for the Nassau Guardian. He researches and recommends innovative approaches to workplace issues, helps repair and recover hardware and software failures, provides technical support and performs upgrades and maintenance as required.
Julie Shaver, BAA IT '00, is an Information Management Group Lead with the Encana Corporation. She is responsible for managing the company's physical and electronic collections of information. Her primary focus is on implementing a business solution for electronic information, with a focus on workflow development.
Melanie Skidmore, BAA IT '03, is a General Duty Constable with the RCMP in Alberta. Although she has switched careers, she says she uses the skills she learned at the Mount every day. Her IT skills have translated easily to the computer systems used in police stations and police cars. Her degree also comes in handy when she needs to write court documents.
Angela Smith, BAA IT '00, is a Manager of Information Management with the Nova Scotia Department of Finance. She is accountable for the development and overall management of the Information Management Program within the Department of Finance. Her responsibilities include developing and updating all IM policies to be consistent with the corporate Information Management Strategy and Framework.
Lauren Smith, BAA IT '04, is an Information Access and Privacy Officer with the Government of Nova Scotia. More specifically, she works in the Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage. She is responsible for responding to requests for information and ensuring that her department is in compliance with privacy-related legislation and policies.
Patricia Studley, BAA IT '10, is a Project Manager with the Nova Scotia Department of Environment. She is the Lead Project Manager for the department's Technical Projects, including new system implementations, system enhancements and upgrades. Her position draws on all aspects of project management, including budget management, project charters, project schedules, etc.
Jianghong "Sunny" Zhang, BAA IT '08, is a Records Analyst with the Bank of Canada. She provides guidance and advice to internal clients on all aspects of records management. She also develops and maintains classification systems for institutional records and personal information.
