Take your IT classroom with you!

Did you know you can earn Mount IT credits from your home or office computer? In a virtual classroom, you can communicate with your professor and classmates through an online audio/visual connection.  Courses start in September, January, and April.

Computer Requirements

Online courses use virtual classroom software and web-based course sites. All distance students need to have access to a computer with an Internet connection. Your computer will require a sound card and a headset (preferred) or speakers and a microphone. Depending on your course, your PC will also require the following:

  • Windows 7 (preferred), Vista or XP
  • Microsoft Office 2010 (preferred) or 2007
  • 1 GHz processor
  • 1 GB RAM (recommended)
  • Internet Explorer 8 or 9

Preparing for Your Class

Before your first class, you will need to download the software that is used to run the virtual classroom. You will also need to test your audio connection, and ensure you have access to your Moodle account. Detailed instructions are available in the following documents:
