Prof. Wendy Doyle, Professor, Accounting and Finance

How do people learn in the workplace? Is workplace learning different for men and women? What do women need to help them become successful entrepreneurs? These are just some of the questions that interest and motivate Prof. Wendy Doyle. They have shaped her research and influenced her teaching.

Among her most notable accomplishments has been training entrepreneurial trainers for women in Hungary and Slovakia, a CIDA-funded research project undertaken with her colleague, Dr. Helen Mallette. This research and intervention resulted in growth of female-owned enterprises with a related increase in the standard of living for participants and local economic impact.

Prof. Doyle is highly regarded as a caring and engaged educator and researcher. She has also been rewarded both academically and professionally with prizes from the Atlantic Provinces Association of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Dalhousie Graduate Fellowship and a Mount scholarship.

Prof. Wendy Doyle joined the Mount as an accounting professor in 1974 . She is also a Mount grad, having graduated Cum Laude (with distinction) with a BA in Business and Economics. Prior to joining the Mount Prof. Doyle completed her Chartered Accountant (CA) designation and worked as a professional accountant for a major accounting firm. She also holds an MBA from Dalhousie University.
