Robin Mann in Spain
In the summer of 2008, I was
finishing up all my visa paper-work and working 12 hour days all to make sure I
was all geared up and ready to take-off on
(little did I know then) a truly life changing experience. I was leaving
the Mount to go to Vic, Barcelona, Spain. Without any knowledge of the culture,
little experience with the language, and never having lived away from home – I
guess you could say I was jumping in the deep-end.
And over the next eight months, I
was opened to a whole new environment; my perspective to taking chances was
completely (and I feel irreversibly) changed. New life-long friends were made, unforgettable
memories forged, and way of life was realized.
By and large, taking that initial
step and believing in myself opened my eyes and made me realize my own
potential. I would, without a doubt, recommend students to take advantage of
the programs on offer; they’re well worth it!
