NON-DEGREE STATUS STUDENT Students may be permitted to register in graduate courses (6000 level) as non-degree students with permission of the course instructor or graduate program head in consultation with the instructor. Non-degree status neither implies nor guarantees subsequent admission to a graduate program, nor continued registration in courses as a non-degree student over time. Courses completed as a non-degree student will not be automatically credited towards a graduate degree, but will be considered as part of the admissions process. A maximum of two units completed as a non-degree student MAY be applied towards graduate degree requirements if the student is subsequently admitted to a graduate program.

Non-degree applicants must submit the following to the Admissions Office:

  • Graduate Application form (choosing 'non-degree' option)
  • $50 Application Fee
  • Resume
  • Official Transcript(s) from all post-secondary institutions attended

NOTE: Students who have not been admitted to the university in a graduate degree program will have READ ONLY access to WebAdvisor, and will not be able to register online. Please contact Jocelyne Lavoie (msvu.ca) or Faith Roach (msvu.ca) for further information.

WebAdvisor is the University's online registration and payment system. It allows you to handle all administrative functions quickly and easily. Through WebAdvisor, you can register and pay for your courses, view your up-to-date account statement, and view your grades. If you would like access to WebAdvisor or have questions regarding its use, please email msvu.ca.

For institutes that require textbooks and/or course packs, students will be responsible for purchasing these at the Campus Bookstore.

Students will be notified when course materials are available. In the event that notification is not received by May 1st, please contact Jocelyne Lavoie or Faith Roach.

PRE-/POST-ONSITE INSTITUTE ASSIGNMENTS

Since the workload during an Institute is demanding, assignments must be completed before the start of classes, as per the dates specified by the instructor in the course syllabus.

What distinguishes a Summer Institute program from a regular summer course is its compressed format over the first two to three weeks of July.  In preparation, participants are required to complete pre-onsite readings and/or assignment(s) in the months prior to the start of the Institute, and then engage with the material and each other while on-campus.  In some instances, the instructor may require the completion of assignments after the end of the formal in-class instruction.

STUDENT ID CARDS
Students must have a valid Mount student ID card in order to take advantage of the Mount library and CRC services. The ID cards are issued by the Library.
