Students in the MEd round out their degrees with a Graduate Project (GEDU 6140). This
course is a Faculty of Education offering. Students in the project course write a substantial integrative and
argumentative paper that engages with an issue in the field of their choosing. As a capstone exercise, the project requires
student project to be of very high quality, demonstrating a depth and breadth
of scholarship and clarity of thought.
The project entails a
sustained exploration of theory, research and practice. Students are expected
to link theoretical and research ideas to existing practical contexts. Each
student in consultation with the instructor designs their own project.
The outcome of the course is for the student
to produce a single 7500-8000 word paper in the form of an article that could
be submitted to a major academic journal in studies in lifelong learning.
